Proving the Impossible

Stabbed and Switched SOLVED!

Well, this was a first: this challenge has the dubious distinction of having the fewest number of entrants since we began this little experiment in magical thinking six-plus years ago! Only two solutions came in, from David Kenney and Jake Gacus. Both these gentlemen took the same approach -- using some well-placed and well-handled duplicates -- to pull off the quick yet monsterous routine and both solutions get the job done and are quite good.

In the end, it was David's solution that I ended up liking just a bit more. A little more magic, a little more flexibility, David's routine solved the problem handily and, as they say in horse-racing, "won by a nose".

So David Kenney wins the prize of a $20 Store Credit from The Trickery. Congratulations, David!

Here is the winning solution as well as Jake Gacus' "More Than Honorable Mention". Congratulations to both Jake and David for finding a solution to this challenge!

Winner
David Kenney

More Than Honorable Mention
Jake Gacus

Now, a special note: "Proving the Impossible" is taking a brief hiatus to let me re-charge my batteries a bit. Stay tuned, though; once the mental Duracells are running again, the challenges will return!
